A name for English gold coins of various reigns and values; a rose-noble. The rose rials of James I. were of the value of $7.20. rose-ringed parrakeet, s. Ornith.: Palæornis torquatus , from Africa, India, and Ceylon. It is about sixteen inches long; green, with a black band from the chin nearly to the nape, rose-colored collar round the back of neck.
