ANDREW HULL, (fut,) an American naval officer, B. in New Haven, Conn., 1806. Entering the U.S.navy in 1822, he became a commander in 1852, saw service in China in 1856, and, after the outbreak of the Civil War, acted with signal credit in the reduction of forts Henry and Do nelson, 1862. In the same year he was promoted to be rear-admiral. D. 1863. [s. 374]
