Review; since 1880 mus. critic for N. Y. Tribune; beside disc rim mating and broad-minded criticism, has written many magazine articles, program notes for N. Y. concerts, ana several books, first, historical records, such as Notes on Chord Mus and Oratorio Soc. of N Y., Review of N. Y. Mus.
