Eylau

(i'lou,) a town of E. Pru ia, on the Pasmar, 20 m. from Königsberg, celebrated as the scene of a great battle fought Feb. 8, 1807, between the French under Napoleon I. and the allied Ru ian and Pru ian arm ios, in which, after a bloody struggle, the former were victorious. [s. 352]
