Extent

[L. Lat. extentum, the thing drawn out, from extendo. Space to which a thing is extended; compa ; degree; bulk; size. ( Eng . Law .) An execution by which the body of the debtor and his property might be taken immediately to enforce due payment. -In various States of the American Union the term is sometimes used to denote writs which give the creditor po e ion of the debtor's lands for a limited time till the debt is paid.
