(in’sekt-pou’dér),n. A dry pow- der used to kill or expel insects; an insecticide or insectifuge. The principal kinds, used against museum and household pests, are the Persian, made from the dry flowers of Pyrethrum roseum; the Dalmatian (also called Persian), from those of Pyrethrum cinerariefolium; and the Californian, also made from the last named plant, all of which are known as buhach.
