(lam-el'). A medicated disc, made with some soluble basis; it is used in the dosimetric application of drugs to the eye, etc.(lam-el' -ah). A descriptive term applied to any foliation scale-like appearance; a thin lamina, scale, or plate. L. of Bone, the concentric rings surrounding the Havers i an canals. L., Bronchial, one of the foldl of the mucosa of the gills of fishes and certain molluscs. L. carnosa, that part of the parietal 1 blast from which the muscles of the trunk developed. L. ceratin a, the epiblastic layer giving origin to the skin and its appendages. L. cere bell are, e of the laminae of the cerebellum. L., Concentric, e of the plates of bone surrounding the Havers i an ah. L. coriaria, the part of the somatopleure from ch the corium and po ibly the cutaneous muscles are developed. L., Cribriform.
