luzonite

(Named after the place where found, Luzon; suff. -ite ( Min.).) Min .: A ma ive mineral, with slight traces of cleavage. Hardne , 3.5; specific gravity, 442; color, dark reddish steel-gray, on exposure turning violet. Luster, black and metallic; streak, black; brittle. Composition: Sulphur, 33:14; antimony, 215; arsenic, 16:52; copper, 47:51. Closely related to Enargite (q. v.). Found at Luzon, Philippine Islands.
