[SULPHURATE, v.] 1. The act of dre ing or anointing with sulphur. "Charms, sulfur a tions, dippings in the sea, sittings all day on the ground."-Bentley: On Free-Thinking, § 50. 2. The same as SULPHURING (q. v.). sul-phu-rā-tõr, s. [Eng. sulphur at (e); -or.] An apparatus for impregnating with or exposing to the action of sulphur; specific., an apparatus for fumigating or bleaching by means of the fumes of burning sulphur.
