(Py′thia). The prieste of Apollo at Delphi, who delivered the answers of the oracle. Also the name of the Pythian games celebrated in honor of Apollo’s victory over the dragon Python. Python (Py′thon). A famous serpent killed by Apollo, which haunted the caves of Parna us. See Septerion. Quadratus (Quadra′tus). A surname given to Mercury, because some of his statues were four-sided.
