troos, n. (Mil.) A temporary ce ation of hos- for negotiation or other purpose; an armistice; intermi ion of action, pain, or contest; short quiet. [ME. triwes, trewes, pi. of trewe, a truce, pledge of reconciliation, AS. treowa, a compact, faith, fr. treo we = E. true, q. v.] — Flag of uce. (Mil.) A white flag exhibited by one of the Hostile parties, during the flying of which hostilities are suspended. — Truce'-break'er, n. One who violates a truce.
