THYREO-HYOIDEUS

(Lat.), n. m. Thi2r(thu8r)-e2-o(o3)-hi- (hu8)-o(o2)-i2d(ed)'e-u3s(u4s). Fr., thyreo-hyo'idien. Ger., Schildzungenbeinmuskel. A flat quadrangular muscle arising from the outer surface of the thyreoid cartilage and inserted into the lower margin of the body and the cornu majus of the hyoid bone. [L, 332.] T.-li. acce orius. An anomalous muscle extending between the superior cornu of the thyreoid cartilage and the greater cornu of the hyoid bone. [L, 332.] T.-h. azygos, T.-h. minor, T.-h. superior.
