Ball

One of the most ancient of games; mentioned by Homer; much used by Greeks and Romans. Balls have been found with other implements for games dating from an early period in Egypt, and ball-play is represented upon the Egyptian losopher and poet. Social Palingenesis , 1828; Vision of Hébal , 1832.
