rusticola (rustikola)

[NL., supposed to be a mistake for rusticula, fem. dim. of L. rus tic us, rustic: see rustic. Otherwise an error for ruricola, The Century Dictionary and Cyclopedia rusticola pean woodcock, now called Scolopax rusticola, or S. rusticula.-2. [ cap.] A genus of Scolo pacidæ, containing only the rusticola: synonymous with Scolopax in the strictest sense.
