(-bo're-anz.) [From Gr. hyper, beyond, and Borcas, the north wind.] (Geog.) Among the ancients, the name given to the inhabitants of the northernmost regions of the globe, who were supposed always to enjoy a delightful climate, on account of being situated beyond the domain of the north wind.
