D6but at 9; pupil of Servais at Bru els Cons.; after tours and positions at Du eldorf and Weimar became concertmaster, solo 'cellist, prof, at Hochschule, Beilin 1869-1873, after further tours director of Ostende Mus. Sch prof, at Bruges and Ghent Cons.; comp. 2 operas, symph., concerto and other ’cello works.
