sniv′l, v.i. to run at the nose: to cry, as a child:— pr.p. sniv′elling; pa.t. and pa.p. sniv′elled. — n. snot: cant, an affected tearful state.— n. Sniv′eller , one prone to snivelling: one who cries for slight causes.— adjs. Sniv′elling , snotty: weakly tearful; Sniv′elly , snotty, whining. [A.S. snofel , mucus from the nose; akin to sniff , snuff .]
