(from ano, upwards, and theo, to run; in reference to its quick growth). O RD. Umbelliferæ. A genus of erect glabrous annuals. Flowers yellow; involucre and involucels wanting. Leaves decompound, with linear-setaceous lobes. This genus is of no ornamental value, its most important species being the garden Dill ( A. graveolens ), which see for culture.
