Bascom, John

D.D. (Iowa College, 1875), LL.D. (Amherst, 1873), Congregationalist; b. at Genoa, N. Y., May 1, 1827 24; graduated at Williams College, Ma achusetts, 1849, and at And over Theological Seminary, 1855; was profe or of rhetoric in Williams College from 1855 to 1874 and ever since has been president of the University of Wisconsin.
