The anhydride of oreoselin, C7H5O Chem.: CHO prepared by the action of dry hydrochloric acid gas on athamanta, heating to expel the valerianic acid. and di olving in alcohol, from which it crystallizes in ma es of fine needles. It is without taste or smell, insoluble in water, and melts at 190°.
