Barth; condr. of theatre and clioral soc. in Dii eldorf; teacher in Liverpool since 1885; has published symph., vln. concerto, etc., and valuable Die V lahntechnik. 74 COUSSEMAKER Cou emaker (kos-mak-Sr Charles ), Edmond Henri de, writer. b.Bailleul, France, Apr. 19, 1835; d. Bourbourg, Jan. 10, 1876. Father, a judge; showed precocious ability on pf., vm., and ’cello; while studying at Douai Lycde learned harmony from Moreau, and later comp, from Reicha and others in Paris; while acting as judge in various towns, he carried on valuable researches in musical lustory, especially harmony of the Middle Ages.
