Geyser

Thermal springs which either periodically or irregularly throw up large streams of water, often 200 ft. or more. The cause of the eruption is supposed to be due to the heating of the water by lava underground. The most noted IMG:content-0287.png:[merged small][graphic] IMG:content-0288.png:[graphic] The Strokr Geyser in Iceland, recently extinct. are the Beehive, Giant, Giante , and Old Faithful in the Yellow stone Park, and the Great Geyser and Strokr or Churn of Iceland, in which districts they mostly occur. Cones of silicious matter are formed at the mouth.
