Cornemuse

[Fr.] A bagpipe; a kind of rustic hautboy. Also written COKNMUSE. Cor'neo-calca'reo us, a. On one side horny; on the other, calcareous. ( Zool .) A term in conchology, used to expre the mixture of horny and calcareous matter which enters into the composition of some shells. It is also applied to those opercula which are horny on one side, and testaceous on the other. Cor'neo us, a .
