ROGERS, painter, born at Greenfield, N. Y., July 10, 1823; studied at Brown University; left college to study art in New York. He became a member of the National A ociation, made several visits to Europe. Among his works are: San Giorgio; Venice; The Coming Storm; The Golden Horn, .; served in the Civil War with the 7th New York Regiment. Died Aug. 29, 1880. Gifford, in Arkansas , a post-town of Hot Springs co., 39 m. S. W. of Little Rock, on St. L., Iron Mt. & S. R. R. Pop . (1890) 516.
