malfeasance

[Fr. malfaisance, from mal faire to do ill: mal (Lat. male )=badly, ill, and faire (Lat. facio )=to do.] Law : The doing of an act which one ought not to do; evil-doing; a wrong; an illegal act. mal-for-mā-tion, s . [Prefix mal- , and English formation (q. v.).] A bad, faulty, irregular, or abnormal formation, conformation, or structure of parts; a deviation from the normal or regular structure or form of an organ.
