are trains of thought pa ing through the mind during sleep, and over which there is absolutely no control. Consequently, they are generally incoherent, but not always. Cole ridge’s Kubla Khaii was a dream. They are caused by external natural causes, and are therefore retrospective, but superstition for ages has regarded them as prophetic.
