a parliamentary and municipal borough of England, forming part of London, bounded by the parliamentary boroughs of St. Pancras, Isling ton, Shore ditch, London City, and Westminster. From 1885 to 1918 it returned three members to Parliament. but now only one. Pop. (1931), 69,888.
