a genus of plants, chiefiy natives of America, belonging to the nat. ord. Composite. Their roots are perennial, po e ing a rough, bitter, or aromatic taste; the flowers are smali, white, reddish, or bluish, in corymbs. Amongst the many species are #. cannabinum, or hemp-agrimony, a British plant.
