BETROTHAL

[ KHITBAH .] BĪʿAH ( بيعة‎ ). A Christian church. The word occurs in a tradition in the Mishkāt (iv. c. vii. 2), and is translated by ʿAbdu ʾl-Ḥaqq “ Kalīsah .” [ CHURCH .] BIDʿAH ( بدعة‎ ). A novelty or innovation in religion; heresy; schism.
