ribroast (ribrost)

1. A joint of meat for roasting which includes one or more ribs of the animal.-2. A beating or drubbing; a cudgeling. Such a peece of filching is as punishable with ribroast among the turne-spits at Pie Corner. Maroccus Extatic us (1595). ( Hall i well .) rib-roast (rib'rōst), v . t . [Origin obscure.] That part of the blade of a rapier which is included between the outermost guard (see cup - guard, counter - guard ) and the cro -guard, or the point of connection between the blade and the hilt.
