A name originally given by Edwards to a species of jaeger figured and described by him. It has been applied to two species of Lestris or Stercorarius, but is identified as the long-tailed jaeger or Buffon's skua, L. or S. long i cauda of some, S. buffoni or S. parasitic us of others. arctic i an (ärk-tish'an), n.
