FIBROSIS

A primary and general fibroid degeneration of the arterioles and capillaries that develops about the middle of life; characterized by diminished calibre and elasticity of the diseased ve els, atrophy of the adjacent ti ue (especially in the kidneys), and hypertrophy of the heart.
