(děn'vur,) the principal city of Colorado, on the S. Platte river, 15 m. E. of the Rocky Mountains, and about 580 W. of the Mi i ippi, at an elevation of 5,375 ft. above the sea; Lat. 39° 45′ N., Lon. 104° 50′ W. This is a flourishing place, dating its rise from the year 1858. Pop. (1879) est. 27,000. [s. 277]
