In rifling, the resistance of the direct progre ive motion of the projectile through -the bore. This resistance varies according to the incline as well as the pattern of rifling. Pitch may be either increasing or decreasing. In aeronautics, the distance through which a given point of a propeller advances during one revolution, parallel to the axis.
