Thomas, an American statesman and orator; born in Bourbon county, Ky., July 29, 1794. He was succe ively a member of Conre ; governor of Ohio; United States Renator; Secretary of the Treasury; member of Congre , and United States Minister to Mexico. He died in Washington, D. C., Dee. 18, 1865, Coryphe us, the leader of the chorus in ancient dramas; by whom the dialogue between the chorus and the other actors of the drama was carried on, and who led in the choric song.
