[ It [Ithaca] forms an eparchy of the nomos of Cephalonia in the kingdom of Greece. Encyc. Brit., XIII. 517. nomos2 (no'mos), n. [ νόμος , usage, custom, law, a musical mode or strain: see nоmеб .] In anc. Gr. music , same as nотеб . nomothesia (nom-o-the'si-ä), n. [NL.: see nomothesy.] 1. Law-giving; legislation; a code of laws. 2. The institution, functions, authority, etc., of the nomothetes.
