Perhaps from Gr.toreuō to embo ; from the appearance of the fruit. ( Sir J. E. Smith .)] Bot.: Hedge-parsley. Formerly a genus of Caucalinide, now reduced to a sub-genus of Caucalis (q.v.). The fruit is covered between the primary ridges with spreading or adpre ed bristles.
