An amorphous alkaloid, C19H22N2O, isomeric with cinch on in and cinch on i din and formed ing. from either of these substances by he at cinch on i din (sin-kon'id-in). An alkaloid, C19H22N2O, obtained from cinchona, especially from the cultivated East Indian varieties; isomeric with cinch on in and bearing the same relation to the latter that quinidin does to quinin. c. sulphate. A compound of c. and sulphuric acid. The ordinary sulphate of c. — basic c. sulphate, c. mono sulphate, (G9H22N2- 0)2H2S04 — occurs, combined with 3 molecules of water of crystallization as hard prismatic crystals [U. S. Ph.]. Its action resembles that of quinin somewhat, but it is much le effective against the malarial fever organism.
