[Eng. pearl, and ash.] Chemistry: Crude carbonate of potash, obtained from the ashes of plants by di olving the calcined ma in water, decanting the clear solution, and evaporating it to dryne in flat iron pans. By con stant stirring toward the end of the proce , the pearlash is obtained in a semi-granular state.
