Graf

a title of nobility which in Germany corresponds to the title count. The first mention of this particular grade of nobility oceurs in the 5th century. There are two cla es of grafs in Germany at the present time, the first forming a section of the highest and oldest nobility, and the second representing the higher order of the lower nobles.
