Agreements made between sellers and buyers to deliver certain goods at a given price, at a certain time in the future. Frequently the goods are not delivered at all, when the appointed date arrives, but the difference between the price agreed upon and the ruling market-price paid over by the seller or the buyer, as the current price may be greater or le than that named in the contract.
