Harrison, Ven. Benjamin

Church of England; b. in England about the year 1810; was a student of Christ Church, Oxford University, graduated B.A. (Ist-cla cla ics and 2d-cla mathematics) 1830; Ellerton theological prize, and Kennicott Hebrew scholar, 1831; English e ay, and Pusey and Ellerton Hebrew scholar, 1832; M.A., 1833; was ordained deacon, 1832; priest, 1833; select preacher at Oxford, 1835-37 domestic chaplain to the archbishop of Canterbury, 1838-48; six preacher in Canterbury Cathedral, 1842-45; became archdeacon of Maid stone with canonry in Canterbury Cathedral, annexed 1845. He was a member of the Old-Testament Company of the Anglo-American Bible-Revision Committee from its organization in 1870.
