smer, v. t. [smeared (smerd), smearing.] To overspread with anything unctuous, viscous, or adhesive; to besmear, daub; to soil, pollute. — n. A spot made by an unctuous or adhesive substance, or as if by such a substance; blot; blotch; daub; stain.
