A bent gla tube partially filled with mercury, used for ascertaining the degree of exhaustion effected by an air-pump, and also for ascertaining the degree of vacuum in the condenser of a steam-engine, or for indicating the pre ure of a fluid contained in a ve el when greater than the pre ure of the external atmosphere, and also the pre ure of liquids, as of water in pipes, . sĩ phồn, v. t.
