[Erroneously written androgeny (Pascoe); Instances of androgyny development of this structure. depend upon an exce ive Todd's Cyc. of Anat . and Phys., IV. 1425. ( N. E. D. ) android, androides (an'droid, an-droi'dēz), n. Gr. ἀνδροειδής , like a man, εἶδος , form.] An automaton resembling a human being in shape and motions. If the human figure and actions be represented, the automaton has sometimes been called specially an andro i des . Encyc . Brit ., III. 142. and romania (an-drō-mā'ni-ä), n. [NL., Gr. ἀνδρομανία, μανία , madne .] Nymphomania (which see). andromed (an'dro-med), n. [ Andromeda .] A meteor which proceeds, or a system of meteors which appears to radiate, from a point in the constellation Andromeda.
