Hindoo'- Coosh

(-koosh,) a mountain-system of Central Asia, adjoining the W. extremity of the Himalaya chain, and traversing the N.E. portion of Afghanistan, with the adjoining regions of Turkestan. The snow covered mountain called Hindoo-koh, one of its most conspicuous summits, is to the N. of the city of Cabul, and is conjectured to exceed 20,000ft. in height. [s. 455]
