Frank Fields, an American clesiagenon and author; born in Clinton, N. Y., June 20, 1826. He graduated at Hamilton College in 1849; was ordained a minister in the Presbyterian Church in 1853; and be: came secretary of “63 mi ions for that denomination in 1871. His chief works are: “The Great oe “Oriental ” (1892). Died in 1908, _ Elliot, Daniel Giraud, an American tm born in New York, March 7, 1835; received an academic education; made zodlogy a_ special study from his youth; traveled in Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia in 1856-1878; subsequently in Canada, Alaska, South America, and the greater part of the United States. He afterward became curator of zodlogy in the Field Columbian Museum. He was decorated 10 times by various European governments for his researches in natural science.. Elliott, Henry Rutherford, an American journalist and story-writer; born in 1849. Died April is 1906.
