Eucalyptol

{u-kal-ip’ ’-tol) [ev, well; kclAvitteiv, to cover], C10H18O. A neutral principle obtained from the volatile oil of Eucalyptus globulus, and of some other species of Eucalyptus. Itis used in bronchitis and malaria, and also in ear-diseases and in urethritis, and externally in various liniments and washes. Dose n\v-x (0.32-0.65), in capsules, three times daily. 267
