[Eng. a, from Gr. a, priv. not; methodical.] Not methodical. ( Bailey.) Unmethodical has now taken its place. *ă-měth'-od-ist, s. [Eng. a, fr. Gr. a, priv. =not; methodist.] A physician who does not proceed on methodical (in the sense of fixed or philosophic) principles, but acts empirically; a quack.
