Alca (alka)

[ML. and NL., Alcadæ (al'ka-dē), n. pl. Same as Alcida. alcahest, alcahestic, etc. See alkahest, etc. Alcaic (al-kā'ik), a. and n. [L. Alcaic us, - Alcaic verse. See II. II. n. [l. c.] A line written in one of the measures invented by Alceus. The most important one
